The luck of the Irish?

Have you heard the expression “The luck of the Irish”? It always gives me a wee chuckle: what’s so lucky about being Irish? 

Sure, it's great when circumstances do unexpectedly turn in your favor. However, hoping "luck" will come your way is not a strategy, particularly when you are running a business. To ensure the greatest chance of achieving and then maintaining success in business, it is critical that owners and leaders have the following:

1.      Clarity of vision

2.      A realistic assessment of where they are currently vs where they want to be

3.      A detailed, thoughtful plan of how to get there

4.      Accountability for taking action to execute the plan
