A workspace should empower employees, colleagues, and staff to do their best work. It’s not just about physical comfort, but also about cognitive characteristics.

To promote focus, and emotional wellbeing, collaboration, and communication should be encouraged. To feel safe in your space, a space where you spend a lot of time in is very important. It also creates a sense of community and trust.

Below are our 5 steps to happiness at work:

1. Collaborate with others, and remain open-minded. Giving others something rare and difficult to find can increase their motivation at work and have work they find fulfilling.

2. Meet with your colleagues outside of work. Create friendships and remain social. This will increase your motivation to go into work and see people you like and feel comfortable with.

3. Go out for a walk at lunchtime. Ensure you move your body and have some fresh air and natural light. Exercising a little every lunch at work will shake off any stiffness and re-set yourself for the afternoon.

4. Bring a healthy lunch to work. Don’t just go for the easy option but take care of your body and nourish it.

5. Create a work music playlist (either in collaboration with colleagues or independently) and keep yourself upbeat and energised! Music changes everything.
