LPWAN antennas for two by two cent

LPWAN antennas for two by two cent

When I was young, we could buy one lollipop for two German pennies. Four pennies had a much higher value than two Eurocents today. What to do with four Eurocents today? A sweet lollipop we cannot buy for four cents anymore. What about a nice, high-performed antenna for four Eurocents? Below is the example. Just have a look at my four-cent approach.

Unfortunately, I cannot solder a one-euro coin. The goal of the study is a cheap, good antenna for LPWAN or Bluetooth. The Bluetooth antenna already comes true. The Return Loss curves are showing that the 2400 MHz band is covered well.

What do you make with your two-cent coins today? Thank you in advance for your two-cent examples by comment or email to harald.naumann (at) lte-modem.com .

Requests for antenna matching, antenna designs, studies, prototypes for IoT devices or development of wireless IoT devices for mass production are welcome as well.

cost would still be too high in volume production :)

This is ART! On the long term more term more and more spectrum will be available for operators which will use standardized communication technologies. The need for wide band adaptive antennas will grow. Despite all the app-stores, high-end-uPs and SDR: Its still radio which requires physical antennas.

Anyone can make an antenna. Especially if you don't care if it works. If you miss the feed point on the coin you are in trouble. If your soldier joint creates a capacitance or inductance you are in trouble And so on. This sort of junk shows up all the time. Either hire a real antenna company or proceed at your peril.

I believe this falls under 'destruction of government property'

Thijis, between test with the 2 cent and 5 cent coin was no big diiference. With 1 cent coins the resonant frequency was in the near of 3600 MHz.
