LPL Update - June
The month of June marks the official halfway point of the year – a time where we begin to look ahead at what’s to come the remainder of the year.
It’s a time we pause and reflect on our goals to make sure we are staying on track and readjust our strategies as needed to finish the year strong.
It is also a time to celebrate fatherhood, the historical legacy of Juneteenth and the commemoration of the end of slavery in America, as well as Pride month for the LGBTQ+ community.
Here at LPL, we’re busier than ever planning for our annual Focus conference, welcoming new partnerships and reflecting on a solid first half of the year for growth not only within our organization, but for our LPL advisors and institution partners as well.
Here are some of our recent highlights.
LPL Milestones
With the addition of separately managed account (SMA) strategies, Model Wealth Portfolios (MWP) is now officially a unified managed account (UMA) platform , which means advisors can combine multiple investment types, all in one account. This marks a major step in our journey to making MWP the best advisory experience in the industry, and is yet another milestone on our mission to take better care of our advisors so they can take better care of their clients
From 2016 to 2021, our Private Client offering has enabled more than 200% growth of assets associated with high-net-worth households. This month, we introduced a distinguished addition to LPL’s Private Client Offering that will allow advisors access to more tools to better attract and serve high-net-worth clients, helping them increase value and deepen relationships.
LPL was nominated for 5 Wealth Management “Wealthies” awards in the categories of: Practice Management (M&A Solutions and Business Strategy Services), Service (Paraplanning Services), Technology (Meeting Manager) and DEI (Black Advisor Voices Video Series). Winners will be announced in September but regardless of the outcome, I’m proud of our achievements in each of these respective areas.

Notable Joins
This month, we proudly welcomed Encore Capital Management as they joined LPL ’s RIA model aligning with The Financial Services Network - an existing firm supporting LPL-affiliated advisors. Given the current state of the market, managing partners and co-founders, Ara Mekhitarian and Leonardo Aguilar, felt it was imperative to make this move now in order to have access to comprehensive resources for clients. By aligning with LPL, the team is able to embrace a single, integrated workstation that will provide an enhanced client experience. We look forward to providing them with the support and service they need to seamlessly run their practice for many years to come.
Next, we announced the addition of Ivan Illán to the LPL Financial Hybrid RIA community with the launch of Aligne Wealth Advisors Investment Management (AWAIM). Ivan turned to LPL to provide clients with improved communication and ongoing education on economic outlook and the impact on their portfolios. This partnership will also enable Ivan and his team to grow their business through attracting new financial advisor relationships, in a more extensive way. It's an honor to be their chosen partner!
Our LPL Strategic Wealth Services community continues to grow as financial advisors Adam Hutchinson and Robert Gibbs join LPL aligning with River’s Edge Wealth. Drawn to LPL’s technology, compliance, marketing and account resources, this business model was a natural fit for Adam and Robert, offering them the opportunity to have access to the tools of a big firm with the feel and personalized support of a small firm. That is the magic of LPL’s Strategic Wealth Services model.
Industry Spotlight
Mindy Diamond , Founder & CEO of Diamond Consultants , a leading recruiting and consulting firm, was recently in the news interviewing with Think Advisor on why now is the “best time in years for advisors to switch firms.” Mindy notes that the top thing on the minds of financial advisors seeking to change firms, apart from the compensation, is a strong desire for “freedom and control.”
Experiencing true freedom and control over your practice is one of the many perks of becoming an LPL advisor. At LPL, we have married independence and support, something that is critical to advisor success in today’s market. At LPL, our advisors choose the exact level of service that fits their needs and together, we help you build your perfect practice offering you everything you need to thrive.
