LPL Update - December

LPL Update - December

2022 was an incredible year! As we reflect upon the past year, I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing milestones we’ve achieved together, commemorate the exciting new partnerships we’ve formed and express gratitude for the dedication of our advisors, institutions and clients.

Here are LPL highlights from December.

LPL Milestones

We started the month with the release of our highly anticipated LPL Research 2023 Outlook report. With all of the challenges, newfound opportunities, and every high and low we’ve experienced during the last couple of years, it’s no surprise that this year’s theme is “Finding Balance.” Every year, our research experts put a tremendous amount of time, energy and resources into creating this report, and I’m grateful for the value it provides to our LPL advisors and institution partners all year long as they guide their clients.

More exciting news from LPL Research – we welcomed Garrett Fish to the team as our new senior vice president and head of Model Portfolio Management! Garrett Fish, CFA brings extensive portfolio management experience to LPL and I look forward to seeing him work alongside our team to provide the expertise, rigorous analysis and valued insights advisors and clients can rely on.

I can’t think of a better way to close out the year than with the news that LPL was recognized by Newsweek as a Most Responsible Company in 2023 . This is the third consecutive year our firm has received this distinguished honor, which aligns with our ongoing commitment to operate sustainably, responsibly and ethically. We look forward to continuing these practices in 2023 and beyond.

Notable Joins

Seeking greater independence and flexibility to grow their practice as they see fit, the highly experienced Financial House team turned to LPL to provide them with the resources and support needed to evolve their business and prepare for future growth. We couldn’t be more thrilled to provide their team with an award-winning wealth management platform , innovative digital capabilities, and robust business solutions to add value for their clients.

Another exciting addition to LPL’s RIA and custodial platforms in December, financial advisor Michael Menninger, CFP? and his team at Menninger & Associates Financial Planning joined LPL after conducting extensive due diligence. With this move, Menninger & Associates will be able to access top technology and resources to elevate client experiences, and open doors to bring on additional advisors to add more depth for succession planning and business continuity. We are honored to be their chosen partner and we’re excited to be on this journey with them.

Looking to elevate their client experience and plan for future growth, financial advisors David Rimkus, Donald Sharko and Thomas Phelan turned to LPL Financial and Financial Resources Group to launch their newly reinvigorated business, Harbor Lighthouse Wealth Management . It’s always exciting to be a part of the launch of a new brand, especially when it’s alongside a dynamic and tenured team of professionals. We look forward to serving the Harbor Lighthouse team and their clients for many years to come!

We finished the year strong by proudly welcoming Chris Lubbers and his 18 advisor team, Strategic Partners, Inc., to our advisor community. For Chris Lubbers, CFP?, CFS? , making a move was all about technology and efficiency, and that’s where LPL delivered. Our ongoing investment in our technology platforms has benefited many advisors, creating more efficient processes and enhanced solutions for their clients. We can't wait to see where these capabilities and this new partnership will take Chris and his team in the new year.

Advisor Spotlight

I want to take this opportunity to shed light on a community facing real-world challenges and financial dilemmas that few of us can comprehend.

Nearly 54 million Americans cope with a special needs family member. The associated cost of care and their need for personalized financial advice for their unique circumstances is incredibly important.

At LPL, we’re grateful that our advisors do more than provide investment advice – they care about changing the lives of their clients and bettering their communities by helping guide them through whatever financial challenges they may face.

We’re grateful for advisors like Jack Morrone , who uses empathy and personal experience as a foundation for helping families with special needs children facing financial distress by providing them with strategies and resources to get through the day, week, month and years.

Take a look at Jack’s inspiring story here. Thank you, Jack, for passionately advocating for this community and for all that you do for your clients!
