LPL Update – April

April was a monumental month for us at LPL. We ended Q1 on a high as we celebrated a milestone for LPL Strategic Wealth Services, released our 5th annual Sustainability Report, announced several exciting partnerships to the firm, and recognized solid organic growth from our quarterly earnings report.

Here’s a recap of some of our April highlights.

LPL Milestones

This month we celebrated five years of progressing LPL’s ESG vision to take care of our financial professionals and their clients by operating responsibly and ethically with the release of our annual Sustainability Report . Our sustainable framework begins by applying an ESG lens to all of our business priorities, and I’m grateful for the outstanding efforts made by our Client Communities and Sustainability teams to share our initiatives, accomplishments, and ongoing efforts in this comprehensive report.

LPL Strategic Wealth Services hit a milestone in April when we welcomed the 30th team, Sheehan Wealth Partners , to the SW family. The SW affiliation model is a truly tailored experience for financial advisors breaking away from the wirehouse, offering simplified pricing, technology, and dedicated support for advisors launching a practice. We’re tremendously proud of the success LPL Strategic Wealth Services has seen since launching just three years ago, and we warmly welcome Sheehan Wealth Partners to the firm. We announced our first quarter 2023 earnings at the end of April, showcasing steady increases in net income and total assets for the firm. These results were driven by LPL's recruiting efforts, the ongoing enhancements to our model, and our expanded adjusted market. As a result, our advisors are winning new clients and expanding wallet share with existing clients. We look forward to carrying this momentum into the year's second quarter and beyond.

Notable Joins

We were honored to welcome Financial Design Group , their 14 advisors and six support team members to the LPL family this month as they continue their long-lasting legacy of putting clients first. We couldn't be more proud to join them in this next business chapter and we are happy to provide them access to LPL's wide breadth of integrated and streamlined business management tools that allow advisors more time to focus on what they do best.

Next, we proudly welcomed a dynamic duo of seasoned financial advisors, Stephen Walker and Wes Alton, of Walker Alston Financial Group , to our LPL advisor community. We genuinely appreciate and resonate with this team’s commitment to putting clients’ best interests first, and we look forward to supporting their business growth through innovative resources, integrated capabilities, and access to a wide range of products. It's an honor to have you both on board!

I’m privileged to share our alignment with the highly esteemed C&N Wealth Management group as they join our Institution Services (IS) platform, further expanding their wealth management business this month. C&N has an impressive and longstanding history of providing sound advice and stability for their clients. We are committed to investing in technology capabilities and resources that allow financial institutions like C&N to strengthen client relationships, differentiate their offering and increase profitability.

Seeking enhanced capabilities, differentiated service experiences and more ways to add value to their practice and clients, the One2One team partnered with LPL this month, gaining access to enhanced capabilities for their clients and opening the door for future growth through M&A. Advisor Spotlight

I want to take this opportunity to share a story about setting aggressive goals and investing in strategies to help achieve them.

SAFE Financial Services, the wealth management and financial planning arm of SAFE Credit Union, recently conducted a long-range planning session, establishing aggressive goals to achieve:

  • 11% growth in 2023 Gross Dealer Concession (GDC)
  • Double both GDC and assets under management (AUM) by 2027

To achieve these targets, SAFE Financial Services partnered with LPL Business Solutions to free up the time of their advisors, allowing them to focus on activities with the highest probability of leading to growth.

The team first utilized Admin Solutions to schedule client reviews, run reports, and complete other tasks. They then used Marketing Solutions to create and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, while Paraplanning Services prepared financial strategies to achieve scale.

These strategies have allowed SAFE Financial Services to create a culture for their advisors, where they serve as relationship managers and resources for clients rather than service magnets.

While it will be months before we know whether SAFE achieves its 2023 growth plan, by partnering with LPL Business Solutions , the path to success has been cleared.
