LPL Tester Gathering - The James Lyndsay Session - April 2016 #LTG
The Liverpool Tester Gathering #LTG are gathering momentum with nearly a 100 testers crammed into Launch22 (Tempest building, Liverpool) for the latest April 2016 Session starring The One, The Only….James Lyndsay.
With build-up and introductions by co-organiser Leigh Rathbone, we got off to a great start. Dave Parkinson gave a presentation from event sponsors Sony PlayStation about their history of testing in Liverpool and some of the challenges they face.

We made great use of the roof terrace in the gorgeous Liverpool sunshine with drinks and pizza during pre-event kick-off and half time break. This went down really well with attendees and is a great space to mingle and chat with like minded people.
James Lyndsay took us through the ‘Bring Me a Rock’ scenario – a lesson in getting your requirements and criteria right in order to set yourself up for success, rather than failure from the beginning. We had lightning talks to nicely round off the evening. Matt Bretten told the assembled testers about the excitement and virtues of attending the various Test Bashes around the country and some hints and tips on getting the best out of them. Connor Roberts introduced us to ‘Lean Coffee’. While Paul Blundell presented some hints and tips for testers from a Dev point of view. Ian Maguire canvassed opinion from the audience on ‘Accessibility Testing’ and how important it is, backed up by some comments from Glib Briia.
