LPL Tech Update - March

As we round out the first quarter of the year here at LPL Financial , our Product-Tech team has been focused on driving growth, making progress against our 2025 product roadmap, and building and developing our teams. Our achievements this month set a strong foundation for continued innovation in the months ahead as we continue working to deliver the best possible technology experience for our advisors, institutions, and their clients.

Here's a look at a few key accomplishments from LPL Product-Technology this month:

Earlier this month, we announced our exciting acquisition of The Investment Center, Inc, and welcomed their 160 high-performing advisors to our network. We’re honored to support this outstanding team of advisors with expanded access to integrated technology and wealth management platforms and resources, which will allow them to focus more on growing their business and delivering increased value to their clients.

Upgraded Tech Solutions

We continue to make enhancements, offering new tools and features that fuel our advisors’ business and help them better serve their clients. This month, we've delivered several exciting product updates:

  • ClientWorks Rebalancer Enhancements: The upcoming Portfolio Management Security Drift Filters capability will enable advisors to find and rebalance accounts with excess security level drift, and a new rebalancing algorithm offers additional flexibility in how you want to invest excess cash and keep client accounts aligned with model targets
  • Multi-Trade Strategy in ClientWorks Rebalancer: We’ve added the ability to trade multiple securities at a time in ClientWorks Rebalancer, eliminating the need to run multiple sessions to conduct trades.
  • eSignature Bundling: We’ve made the signing process easier by adding eSignature bundling to New Account Opening, Move Money, and Annuity Order Entry. These updates simplify workflow and save valuable time by reducing the number of emails our advisors and investors receive.
  • Enhanced AI Capabilities: With the help of AI, you can spend less time on administrative tasks and more time focusing on what matters to you, like client relationships. With that in mind, we’ve added access to Adobe AI Assistant and Box AI, as well as Wealthbox AI Reports, which will help you create a report based on your prompt.
  • Deeper CRM Integration: With client data flowing between Wealthbox and ClientWorks, any update you make in either platform will instantly reflect in the other with our new two-way integration feature between Wealthbox and ClientWorks. This helps keep client contact information organized, eliminates duplicative data entry, and ensures data consistency.

Industry Recognition

Congratulations are in order for Chief Information Security Officer Renana Friedlich-Barsky who has been named a Team8 #Cyber25 Woman of Impact. This award recognizes the exceptional women shaping the future of cybersecurity across some of the biggest firms and industries in the country. Renana is an incredible asset to the Product-Tech team, and I’m glad to see her recognized for her commitment to enhancing cybersecurity in an increasingly challenging landscape.

I’m also thrilled to announce that LPL Meeting Manager has won the 2025 BISA Technology Innovation Award! Meeting Manager’s automation of tasks, streamlined data tracking, and visibility into client interactions is changing the game on how institutions engage with clients. I'm incredibly proud of and grateful to the LPL Financial #ProductTech team for the hard work and pioneering attitudes that make recognition like this possible!

Product-Tech in the Press

In addition to industry recognition, several of our Product-Tech leadership team were featured in the media this month. First, Chief Product Officer, Gary Carrai, CFA , wrote a piece featured in Financial-Planning.com about demystifying AI technology and how to thoughtfully incorporate AI into your financial planning practice.

Chief Information Officer of Advisor Technology, Kristie Edling-Day , also joined the Unlearn Podcast with Barry O'Reilly to share her personal insights on facing challenges in fast-growing industries, why being open to changing old ways helps with innovation, and using smart strategies to build strong operations.

Team Development

As we continue focusing in on developing our team and refining our skills, Chief Information Officer of Platform Modernization, Billy Runyan , hosted immersive sessions with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that explored our overall strategy with AWS as well as the Data Platform, AI, Security, DevOps, and Quality Engineering enabling it.

We also spent time this month in Fort Mill participating in week-long sprint-based acceleration sessions (SBAs) designed to drive product development through focused collaboration amongst a variety of different teams. We’ve used these SBAs to make headlong progress on enhancing our products and delivering exciting new capabilities, all while bridging silos and promoting in-person teamwork.

And finally, we celebrated the Product-Tech team for their hard work, resilience, and commitment to delivering extraordinary digital experiences for our advisors, institutions, and their clients during Employee Appreciation Day. We gathered across our offices in Fort Mill, San Diego, Austin and New York to enjoy lunches, happy hours, and coffee breaks as we shared words of gratitude and spent time connecting with our teammates. I am grateful to be part of a team that challenges and inspires me each day, and happy to spend some time recognizing them. ???
