Industries are increasingly utilising video fire detectors to identify fire signatures in locations where conventional detectors might not suffice.

International Security Journal: Leaders in Security Podcast - Standards, application, and impact!

LPS 1175, which is the result of many years of work by LPCB, Government, Insurers and Police, covers the broadest scope of physical security products and services of any publicly available standard in the world.

In this?informative podcast, Richard Flint MSyl , BRE ’s Technical and Commercial Lead (Security), discusses this Loss Prevention Standard, offering background information, and covering the international expansion of the standard.

The podcast also covers how Meesons , an access security consultancy, embraces security standards, including LPS 1175, and integrates them within business operations.

Events

Fire Sprinkler International 2024

Colleagues representing BRE Global and?BRE Global Ireland?exhibited at the European Fire Sprinkler Network ’s Fire Sprinkler International event at Croke Park Stadium in Dublin from 24-25 April 2024.

The event, which welcomed a record number of delegates, provided the opportunity to meet with industry stakeholders, discuss the benefits of LPCB’s expertise as a third-party certification body, and highlight the?work and services offered by?BRE Global Ireland.


The Security Event and The Fire Safety Event 2024

LPCB recently exhibited at The Security Event (TSE) and The Fire Safety Event at the NEC in Birmingham. Designed by the industry for the industry, these events reunited installers, integrators, manufacturers, distributors, and end users from 30 April-2 May. We were pleased to meet a range of industry stakeholders at both events to discuss the benefits of our third-party testing and certification.

The Security Event also provided the opportunity to showcase attack testing in the Live Testing Lab. Our live demonstrations, featuring a range of physical perimeter protection products, allowed us to share our unparalleled knowledge and experience with over 550 engaged delegates, covering a range of critical infrastructure sectors, banking, and retail.

Engagement and learning

New BRE Academy BIM training course dates available

We are pleased to announce that new BIM training dates have been scheduled in response to high demand. Our training is designed to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement and manage the ISO 19650 series of standards, covering crucial aspects such as BIM terminology, principles, documentation, and digital transformation.

Fire Door Inspection course - in-person or virtual classroom

Developed by BRE and the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF), this course covers crucial factors that must be addressed when conducting fire door inspections.

This training course is aimed at anyone who will undertake fire door inspections including building control officers, safety inspectors, insurers, fire risk assessors, and facilities managers.
