Lowest Solar Tariff auction in India REWA 750MW

750 MW REWA ultra MW solar project has seen tariffs fall to a record low,

"Auction Tariff Rs 2.98/ kWh ($ 44.5 cents).
Levellized tariff Rs 3.30/ kWh ($ 44.9 cents)
24% lower then any previous of Rs 4.34"

Thanks to falling equipment cost. Solar module prices, constituting about 60% of capital costs, have fallen by 26% in the last year to approx $ 0.30/Wp

REWA auction results in solar PVcheapest power source in India. coal power - Rs 5/kWh. Gas power - Rs 6/ kWh. wind power - Rs 4/ kWh.

With this trends, we assume private sector will lead the role in renewable power investment. Need of the hour is strong DISCOMs and there financially strengthening to boost investor confidence, SECI's new financial rating is a good move in this regard, Hope that it continues.

Foreign investment with lower interest rate in addition to the Govt policies in respect of PPA, seems to be the key factor for achieving cheaper price for solar power.
