Lower Meramec Wastewater Treatment Facility Project Update:
Secondary Clarifiers & Chlorine Basin

Lower Meramec Wastewater Treatment Facility Project Update:

Goal of this project? Increase current peak flow from 60million gallons to 100million gallons of water per day.

How are we getting to that goal? Well, that process takes some time. This project kicked off in late June of 2022 and is to be completed late summer of 2025. This project requires nearly 2,000 tons of rebar and so far over 16,000 cubic yards of concrete have been poured. Our project manager, Kaleb, says we still have 6,500 more cubic yards of concrete to pour.

Progress to date? Well so far crews have completed a lot of concrete work such as needed on a new pump station, diversion structure, plus primary + secondary clarifiers. Also, the office building expansion is near completion.

Constructing any project is a massive undertaking that requires the expertise and collaboration of many individuals and companies. As the saying goes, "it takes a village", well, a construction project like this is a great example. Kaleb, the project manager, estimates that this MSD project will involve more than 30 subcontractor partners and numerous equipment/material vendors and suppliers to complete the project successfully.

Each subcontractor partner plays an essential role in ensuring that the building's various components are installed correctly, from the foundation to the roof. They work tirelessly to ensure that the project stays on schedule and within budget. The equipment and material vendors and suppliers are equally critical, providing the necessary resources and supplies to keep the project moving forward.

Without the collaboration and expertise of these individuals and companies, construction projects would be an impossible task. It is essential to recognize and appreciate the contributions of everyone involved in a construction project, from the project manager to the subcontractor partners, equipment/material vendors and suppliers, and everyone in between. By working together, we can create something truly remarkable that will benefit the community for years to come.
