After a hectic week in assisting various consultants with designs for up-coming projects, trying to play "Tetris" while designing an Assembly that needs to go into a Marine vessel with all its constraints while still needing to comply to IEC61439 as well as AMS regulations i was wondering how some suppliers these days are just arrogant in their replies.
How can you claim to be fully IEC61439-1&2 compliant , give the client a "certificate of compliance" but in the same wording claim "We are not responsible for the sizing or lay-out of this enclosure". My dear Sir, Under IEC61439 you are responsible for your design and lay-out, your client is relaying on your knowledge and expertise to give them the correct solution and guarantee that the Assembly complies to IEC 61439 regulations. My question is, who would you trust on your Assembly, the "self claimed Market leader" or the person that guarantee's the design as well has the full backing of the various OEM products with international acceptance?
These days with all the added SHEQ risk assessments and safety regulations I would rather trust a brand that is willing to back there product up and put their money where their mouth is. For that reason I am proud to be associated with the Logstrup brand in Africa.
