Low Hanging Fruits

In our lives & careers, we keep looking forward for those peak objectives & dreams. And most of the times, the unhappy chord strikes when the current ecosystem does not sync up with our motto to do something big, to hit the best, to attain the maximum. Unhappiness pops up & people become restless & directionless at work, thinking what to do next, or figure out the next move for that big objective.

Do you feel the same? I felt so...Here is what I found out “Catch the Low Hanging Fruits First”.

What I have discovered is nothing new, & I am sure, nor it is alien to you. The difference here is knowing vs applying..

Many researches, studies & success theories have mentioned this simple concept of ‘taking tiny steps at a time’. It is important to realize that tiny steps & achievements build the base to harness our motivation & alongside keep our momentum machine on. The idea is to keep filling our kitty with those little knowledge & experiences. I call them the Low Hanging Fruits.

What do we do when we try to grab a fruit from a tree?

Might not be the case, maybe yes as well, for most of us now - do we remember that simple approach of targeting to take which fruits down?

It used to be those fruits first, which are well within our reach. We used to grab the one at the shortest height from the ground & then make the strategy(during earlier times it was our common sense) for the high hanging ones. We never missed to grab those fruits which are available. The Low Hanging Fruits also helped us to understand the big picture of the tree. If the lower ones taste good, then we looked forward for the ones at the height.

The same principle applies in our daily life. There are many low hanging fruits to grab. We have to find them. Yet, most of us tend to forget this principle.We target objectives at a great height at the beginning itself, which then turns into a mammoth challenge and we feel tough to achieve it. We become demotivated & dissatisfied. We miss those Low Hanging Fruits which can be a good starting point for us to keep us motivated, & then take the leap to go for the big ones.

Life is a game which we need to play minute by minute. The moment we are able to stay at the present, play the game & grab the low hanging goals first, slowly it would start making differences in our lives.

The Game Changers are - get to understand the bigger picture through tiny steps, estimate the efforts required to grab the fruit at the top. The idea is not to just dream big but also keep materializing it step by step, grabbing those small opportunities.

Yes, look around…..There are many Low Hanging Fruits in your sphere. Go & Grab It!
