Low Effort Goals

Low Effort Goals

New year, same me—just trying to keep it together. The thing about personal goals is that they don’t have to be massive, life-changing actions whatsoever. Sometimes, it’s the small, easy wins that make the biggest difference. (Heck, anytime you get up to make your bed is a huge victory). So, if you’re looking for simple goals that don’t require a personality factory reset, here’s your list. No pressure. We listen and we don’t judge. If you need a bit of inspiration, here are just a few ideas to keep life moving in the right direction in the New Year!

Easy, Low-Effort Personal Goals for the New Year

  • Drink more water.?Because apparently, coffee doesn’t count (how rude). Keep that Stanley cup nearby and aim for "slightly more hydrated," rather than, "dried up SpongeBob"
  • Go for a walk.?You don’t need to run a marathon. Just step outside, breathe some air, and pretend you’re the main character instead of a cog in a machine for 10 minutes. Nothing wrong with a 10 minute inflated ego!
  • Cook one meal at home.?Doesn’t have to be fancy and scrambled eggs totally count. Anything works. I for one am a huge fan of Texas Toast and Lucky charms.
  • Call or text someone you miss.?It’s awkward at first, but reconnecting feels way better than doom scrolling TikTok for the 12th time today. If you're really feeling frisky, call them using your landline to add a little bit of extra flair!
  • Declutter one drawer.?Just?one.?That junk drawer in your kitchen filled with random batteries, a couple cheerios, a flashlight that stopped working, and your?grandma's gastro-intestinal medication. Yeah, it’s time.
  • Read a book.?Or like,?even just?start?one. (Audiobooks count, too, and I will die on that hill).
  • Go to bed 30 minutes earlier.?Blasphemy, I know. But your more irritable morning-self will be?eternally grateful...and so will your co-workers and boss.
  • Try something new.?A hobby, a food, or?even?finding a new way to work. It’s the smallest changes that make life feel fresh again.
  • Say “no” to one thing.?Protect your energy. Cancel plans if you need to. It’s okay to stay home and do nothing. Nothing better is better than canceled plans. We all say we like going out, but lets face it, nothing beats?staying in your pajamas and eating junk food on a lazy Saturday evening.
  • Celebrate small wins.?Did you make your bed today? Amazing. Ate a vegetable? Incredible. You’re crushing it.
