Low-cost PCB antennas for the wireless IoT - presentation together with Thomas Halkier, CEO of NeoCortec
Harald Naumann
As the winner of the 5G NTN Antenna Award , I am happy to inform you about my 0 USD antenna concept and more – contact me!
This will now be the last IoT M2M Times before the summer break. I try to publish an edition every fortnight on average. For a text, I need the desire to write and a little time. Next week you will find me at Embedded World in Nuremberg and visiting customers the day before and after. The week is extremely well planned with the Joined Dinner. I think I can give you some news from the fair.
Low-cost PCB antennas for the wireless IoT - presentation together with Thomas Halkier, CEO of NeoCortec www.neocortec.com
NeoMesh from NeoCortec works like Mioty, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, Wireless M-Bus, Z-Wave, 6LoWPAN and many more in the licence-free mand 868 and 91^5 MHz. The customers of NeoCortec and the other protocols are smart and want to save money. They use Google and find three antenna layouts from Texas Instruments.??These layouts are over 10 years old and unfortunately partly wrong. In the meantime, there must be more than tens of thousands of one-to-one copies of the imperfect antennas from TI.
NeoCortec has ordered me to document and improve the TI layouts. It works better. It works much better. But why does a small company like NeoCortec have to pay me to improve the wireless IoT world in antennas?
The study is just the beginning. In the meantime, I contribute to many IoT teams around the world on an hourly basis. Everyone gets as much "Harald" as they need. Everybody gets his or her topic laid out for them. Of course, the topics overlap, but everyone's questions lead to a "closed user" document from which all of the "Shared Haralds" benefit.
Slides 1 to 3: Intro, who is Crout GmbH, an overview of Sub-GHz
I only have a total of 30 minutes with Thomas' intro and Q&A. Thomas will need 5 minutes and I will not waste time explaining Crout. To see slides 2 to 15 you have to scroll to the end of the text.
Slide 4 to 6: Selection of an antenna
IoT developers often have very strange views on selecting an antenna.?Due to lack of knowledge, they often choose the wrong antenna.
Slide 7: 100+ errors on one slide
The study refers to 100+ copied PCB antennas. Copied without knowledge, VNA and RMS. Not much more needs to be said.
Slide 8 to 13: Excerpt from the study:
I will spend most of my time on the 5 foils.
Slide 14: Overview of services
Four subthemes on one slide.

Slide 15: Thank you and invitation to the stand
The thank you is followed by a Q&A.
The study is available free of charge at: https://www.akoriot.com/white-papers/
Anyone can integrate me into their team by the hour. I am happy to share my knowledge. Followed by a webinar on LPWAN, antennas and approval plus much more on the development of wireless IoT devices.
Visit us at EW2022 on 21-23 June 2022 at Crout GmbH, www.crout.eu, hall 5, stand 5-284. Furthermore, I look forward to receiving enquiries at harald.naumann (at) lte-modem.com.
