Lovro's Story: Effective Approaches to Autism Spectrum

Lovro came for a consultation with Dr. Perko Sebastijan at MAHA Clinic - Integrative Medicine and Dentistry and Dr. Thomas Rau M.D. , accompanied by his parents. He was about 18 years old and the third child in the family. His parents had been persistently seeking help for his unique health challenges.

During those early visits, it was tough to connect with Lovro. He couldn't make eye contact and was easily distracted by his surroundings. He was impulsive and hyperactive, constantly moving his arms and head.

Early Signs and Diagnosis

According to his mother: "Lovro received his first vaccine when he was only 13 months old, and his health condition worsened within a day. He cried inconsolably, had severe diarrhea, was extremely pale, and responded to any change with great aggression and anger. It was clear that he was different from other children in his behavior and growth. Therefore, we quickly consulted various doctors and pediatricians, wanting to offer him the best possible care in understanding the cause of his condition."

After the examination, he was diagnosed with suspected autism at around 2 years old, and doctors said he would never walk and would need diapers for life. Later, at the age of three, he was officially diagnosed with moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

This was a heartbreaking moment for his parents, who had hoped for the day he could speak a few words and tell them what was wrong, what hurt, what emotions he was experiencing, and what he liked.

Treatment Challenges

When Lovro first came to MAHA over three years ago, he faced many challenges:

1. severe ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder);
2. poor eye contact;
3. poor response to verbal commands;
4. no reaction to simple interactive games;
5. produced uncontrolled loud noises;

Integrative Approach to Treatment at MAHA

At MAHA, we carefully analyzed his physical, mental, emotional, and social condition and actions. Our approach combined integrative target-oriented approach, biological medicine, ayurveda, psychology, and manual therapy, focusing on:

Reports showed us that his metabolism and homeostasis were imbalanced due to high levels of pathogenic bacteria, such as Blastocystis, Haemophilus, and Dientamoeba, and that he also had leaky gut syndrome, affecting his digestion and nutrient absorption.

When we started regenerating his gut with biomedicine, supplements, ayurvedic therapy, and Papimi ion induction therapy, all therapies together accelerated his metabolic rhythm and improved gut bacteria. Naturally, his dietary routine was also reshaped. He is now on a gluten-free, sugar-free, and lactose-free diet.

Improvements and Progress

After implementing his customized therapeutic protocols in 2023, we observed significant improvements through analyses:

Current Condition and Future Outlook
