Loving yourself to best body shape

I always start with advising my clients that fat loss and improved health always begin with self-love.

Learning to love yourself is not an exercise in selfishness or narcissism.?Hence, “you must love yourself before you can love others”.

WHY you should love yourself?

Simple – you are beautiful, unique, and wonderful.?There isn’t a second person exactly like you. ?I have identical twins.?Both of them are unique and non-identical at all.?Bottom line, you are the only person on this Earth that can do what you are meant to do. You will discover you have much potential and you will only discover it after you love yourself more and more.

WHY loving yourself help you shape up your body?

Don’t trying to shed off extra inches or pounds because you dislike the person you see in the mirror. If you are not happy with yourself now, happiness is not guaranteed for when you have a flatter tummy.

Learn to love the person you have the potential to be.?Love yourself first.

If you decide that you want to shed a few extra pounds of fats, accept where you are and what image you see yourself now. You choose to do it because you love your body, you desire to see a better version of yourself and take entire process as a life time self-growth.?The whole process becomes a game that you will not always looking for “end destination” that never comes.

Hence, challenge yourself can take your self-worth to the next level when you meet your small goals that reinforce these feelings.?

When your start from the position of self-love, you will naturally respect your body and would love to eat the healthiest food and you will see exercise a joy as it helps you feel great about yourself.

HOW to practice self-love?

1) Practice gratitude

When you practice gratitude, your mind starts to shift to focus on good things in your life, which can help you shift from your perspective from negative to positive.?This shift will promote your healthy energy and vibes.??

A grateful person is a happier person.?Happiness can trigger the release of oxytocin hormone.?Oxytocin may indirectly contribute to weight loss.?Oxytocin reduces stress and anxiety, that could promote emotional eating and food craving.

2) Be responsible & accountable to own happiness

Not only practice the habit of gratitude, you also must be responsible and accountable to your own emotions and happiness.

If you are not happy with whatever situation you are in, take responsibility and accountability of how you get there and make a plan to improve it.

3) Self-love affirmation

Speak positive affirmations to yourself every day.

Do you know every part of your body listens to your affirmations?

There is some evidence suggested that our thoughts and emotions can affect the expression of genes in our cells.?This is known as epigenetics, and it suggests that our mental and emotional states can have a direct impact on your physical health and wellbeing.

Daily, override self-criticism words by positive affirmations.?I always sing a happy tune with these affirmations “I am happy, I am good.?I am pretty, I am great” when my belief is being challenged.

4) ?Practice self-care

We all have so much to do every day, hence time is so precious and many see taking time off to take care of your wellbeing is not your priority. Before I learnt about self-love more than a decade ago, I even felt guilt to take a rest and just unwind.

If you want to feeling good about yourself and love yourself more, then the temporary “down-time” for you to unwind and recharge must be in your schedule.

This does not mean you have to spend a lot of money to go to a luxury SPA center to unwind, (of course you can go ahead if this is your indulgence).

As for myself, I love to exercise in the park, cook healthy food, take a hot bath with lavender essential oil, do a home kit galvanic face and body spa to firm and recharge my skin, and treat myself to a face mask sheet while relaxing.

You have to take the first step to do this.?Trust me, you will appreciate yourself & your body deeper and starts building a healthy relationship with yourself.

WELLNESS from WITHIN

I had seen many clients willing to make a change in their lifestyle, diet and exercise when they truly accept themselves and love themselves inside out.?

That’s right – accept everything about yourself.

Your body, your height, your genes, your colour, your strength, your weakness, your thoughts, your emotions.?Love yourself enough until you desire to see the best version of you.

Exercise is no longer a chore, it is something to make you feel great and better.

Eating a healthy diet is no longer a punishment, as you want your body to get the best nutrients.

Taken in this perspective, the journey to lose weight (lose fat) is a journey to discover the best version of yourself and it is a happy journey.
