Loving the Life I See w/ Tracey Gibson feat. Stacey Mazuelas

When I think about loving the life I see, I can’t help but reflect on the remarkable impact that Stacey Mazuelas has had, not only on me, but so many others who get to work by her side each day. I’m also reminded that you sometimes find a gem, where you least expect it.

My principal intention in this space is to elevate others. To lift up, shine a light on, and celebrate Andersen employees and the outstanding contributions they make to our company, its culture, and our larger community.?

I see this as an opportunity to look at attracting, nurturing, and retaining talent. Living DEI in your daily work life requires all of us to think outside the box and challenge the status quo frequently. For me, it’s about looking at things through a wider lens.

Stacey is proof and point that there is more than one path to attract greatness to your company. Stacey’s path to Andersen wasn’t what one might consider traditional. Trained in marketing, she’d spent her entire professional career in that field before she took a leap of faith and joined Andersen Corporation as a temp in 2019.?

She later confided in me that she wanted to make a shift in both her life and livelihood and thought Andersen might just be the right fit. Stacey was immediately impressed by the company and its commitment to DEI. “Andersen does what it says it does,” Stacey explained, “And, its leaders set the example. I wanted to be part of that.”

It wasn’t lost on me or other leaders at Andersen that Stacey was pretty special herself.?Not only did she prove to be a hard worker, she was thoughtful, skilled, curious, and had so much to offer the company. And, in very short order, she was promoted to Talent Acquisition Support Supervisor. Again, although her journey was unconventional, Stacey proved that there is more than one way to get your foot in the door at a place like Andersen. Which is why it is important for corporations like ours to have that sort of vision, to provide leadership opportunities even if they are counter to traditional pathways. And, in Stacey’s case, this truly paid off.?

In her current role, you could say that Stacey is the face of the organization, at least when it comes to attracting, nurturing, and retaining talent that helps to lift up and strengthen every aspect of our organization.?

She’s relentlessly positive and has demonstrated that she won’t back down from a challenge, no matter how daunting. If confronted with a seemingly impossible task, Stacey simply breaks it down into manageable pieces.

Among the many things that I believe that makes Stacey’s perspective and contributions unique are her love of travel and learning new things. It’s easy to recognize that she has an open mind and big heart. But spending time in other parts of the world enables her to see things from different angles, from other points of view. And that allows her to not only see the world as it is, but what it can be. Stacey, I am so happy that you are part of the Andersen family. Trust me, I’m not alone.
