Love What You Do
Finding your passion isn’t as easy as you may think. Being locked into a job that doesn’t spark your interest can be damaging. But how can we find that passion and that job that we enjoy.
First, what is it that you can do 24 hours a day and still love it. Our jobs shouldn’t be our life but an extension of us. Not a burden but a stepping tool. Often, you are your own product. You are your brand or you represent one. Quality over quantity because if we just go with the flow and on popular demand, nothing would ever be credible. We’re not aiming to be on the bandwagon, we want to lead the way and create our own. Here's an article that I hope you find as interesting as I do: https: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/don-t-compete-create. It tells you not to stress about competition but to get out there and create. Be one of those people that are not in competition with anyone else, yet others are in competition with you. Those who are unstoppable are in their own world. "Don't think. You already know what you have to do, and you know how to do it. What's stopping you?"
Break away from the idea that having a job is enough, your living pay check to pay check, getting stressed and gaining weight or not gaining any. The only weight I focus on is measured in success. Not saying to quit your job, but either be proud of what you do and move on or figure out what sparks you. Your life is to short to be at a desk you hate or breaking your back for a company that is stretching you year after year. You know your worth and be practical. Make it relevant, look at who you can be, is this what you pictured? Your story inspires you and empowers you. Find a balance with your life and work, integrate your life with work. Find a job that engages you, is a compelling desire, where you want to do your best work, a place that stimulates you.
Find your passion. It’s what drives you and it’s something you sacrifice for. Are you willing to suffer for your passion, because there’s a value in serving your passion? To say yes to one thing, may mean your saying no to another. Discern how you learn and where you put your time. You can achieve your dream job, that doesn’t feel like a job, but instead in return your doing what you love. Bring enjoyment to your work. https://www.themuse.com/advice/how-to-find-your-passion-over-your-lunch-break-or-at-least-get-started
I’m an artist and there are different mediums I could work with. I chose a job that focuses on my talents in design but also in high demand. It's worth hunting down a job that uses my natural talents and is an extension to what I naturally do. My personal business that I build and run from home is something I could be more creative with. It depends what your goal is and no matter what your never too young or old to go for that life that pays you to do something you love. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Sometimes you need a breakdown in order to rebuild yourself and raise your standards. Be confident, start before you're ready. "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
It may take time to get to where you want to go, but the point is to have a purpose, a plan and to be practical. Find a quite spot and have a tea or coffee and ask yourself some personal questions with a paper and pen. Set goals that far exceed your current capabilities, develop a disregard for where your abilities end. Yet, choose simplicity over complication. "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." - Albert Einstein
