A wrenching drama about #freedom , #faith , #abuse , #autonomy , #responsibility and #survival ...As time ticks towards a deadline, I was rivetted and hoping that these emotionally scarred women find the strength and resolve needed to propel them forward...Lovers of the novels of Marilynne Robinson or Elizabeth Strout (especially Gilead and My Name Is Lucy Barton) will swoon over the film’s pacing. Its aesthetic is just as quietly bold...the film is beautifully performed and gripping in a chewy, nuanced, contemplative way...This is a hell of an ensemble cast, and it uses the exceptionally wide Superscope frame to immerse the viewer in a heightened and tense environment...A wonderfully bold political film that makes some invaluable assertions on #feminist issues...By its end, "Women Talking" has taken the viewer on quite the cinematic journey, filled with #raw emotions and metaphysical musings. Throughout, the drama reminds us that civilizations cannot endure when they exclude certain citizens from participation...These women are #bold and gutsy, ready to bust open the only world they've ever known so they may create a new one for their #children — one where #forgiveness does not denote permission, one where they will be #safe from harm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD0mFhMqDCE
