Love in the Time of Chaos

Once again, we are divided. We pick our flag, choose a side, and justify our actions & beliefs on the self-proclaimed hallowed ground of being the righteous.

However, it is humorous when everyone, despite choosing opposing sides, claims to be the right one.

It is more than wanting to be right and prevail. It is an ancient process of forming tribes. No matter your side, it is about connecting with like-minded people who validate your beliefs. It becomes even more entrenched when the masses of the tribe adopt a leader connected to a shared idea or ideal.

In any tribe, the greatest risk is when we collectively decide that we are right and there is nothing to discuss. We have cemented our concepts around our beliefs as if they were cast in stone.

BUT WHERE IN ALL OF THIS IS LOVE?

Most say we are ascribed to love, compassion, caring, and empathy. Yet these principles are slaughtered like sheep in the name of collective beliefs and actions.

It is an old and sad story. In our zealousness, we believe that the ends justify the means. Great nations have fallen to this obsession despite millenniums of historical evidence showing this belief's error.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another” (John 13:34).

No culture survives without love.

Pay less attention to what the MIND wants to conquer and destroy and more to what the HEART wants to build. Otherwise, we are planting the seeds of our destruction!

The deeper truth is that we are all brothers and sisters, and we are our sisters' and brothers' keepers.
