Love the Thorns

Every goal has its price, every road to our dreams takes it toll, and this price must be paid in perseverance, determination and an unwavering focus on "why" you choose that path. I think that maybe we don't dig deep enough, firmly rooting our resolve to stay the course no matter what. We get excited about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but neglect to think about the numerous obstacles along the way, so when they show up we are unprepared and often back down determining that the goal was perhaps not worth the effort. I have learned over time and through much study that life's experiences have no meaning other than the meaning we give it, so I choose to take every event as an opportunity to learn more about myself and the world around me. Life is a glorious adventure, full of challenges, joys, and sorrows. Take a chance to gather your roses, but love the thorns as well.
