"A Love That Will Never Let Go!" -Romans 5:8
If you have ever had a brush with love; you know that this feeling is hard to pin down. When it comes to human love, no matter how strong that love might be, there is always the possibility of it letting go. Love and the need to be loved is one of humankind's greatest needs. But sadly, human love is seasonal, in that, its forecast is unpredictable, and for this reason, men and women are constantly focusing on their learned behavior of pulling away from love’s intended purpose – Genesis 2:16-17. So I say to you, in order to be whole:
· We need genuine love, because
· Outside of real love, there is only a foundation of rejection!
And with all of the imperfect human frailties, is it possible to find a better kind of love? My answer to that is an overwhelming yes; because when we review the very nature of God, we find that his nature is love – 1 John 4:7.
In our complex world where so many misguided and distorted pictures of love that exist. Yet humankind still longs for the kind of love that will never let go; a love with permanence, characterized by unconditional acceptance. Well in all of my searching, I know of only one place where that kind of love can be found. That place was Calvary! The love that your soul is longing for is freely made available at the cross. Why? Because Jesus, the Savior of the world shed his blood there for our sins to prove that the love of the Father has permanence! Jesus told his disciples, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends – John 15: 13.
At Calvary, God demonstrated His love. Jesus demonstrated His obedient love for us by going to the cross. And because of his great sacrifice, the bell of judgment for our sins did not ring, because the blood of Jesus silenced it forever. Isaiah says that He was bruised for our iniquities” – 53:5.
The cross was the place where we were set free from the tyranny of Satan, because the blood of Jesus liberated us from the wrath of God. He did all of this while we were yet sinners. Sin keeps us from experiencing God’s love in all its fullness. So to put it simple, sin is when I choose me instead of God, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit," -1 Peter 3:18. The cross is a place of divine invitation, you see, the Creator of the universe has invited you and me to partake in the revisions made for us through Jesus’ death.
So I say to you, there is absolutely positively, nothing you or I can to do make God love us more! There is nothing we can do to make God love us less because His love is beyond any human conditioning. The Love of the Creator for His creature is
· Unconditionally,
· Impartially,
· Everlasting,
· Infinitely,
· Perfect!
So you see, there will never be another act toward humanity as the one God has already demonstrated for us on the cross!
