For the Love of Message Queueing

Ever heard of the old Swedish saying: "Order and tidiness–money on Friday." Perhaps it best captures how Scandinavians, and Swedes in particular, value order. Since many of us are Swedes, we are big fans of queuing—we patiently wait our turn and would never dream of cutting in line.

We love queues so much that we've written several blog posts about them. Our most recent ones provide a walkthrough of RabbitMQ's different queue types and explain the importance of choosing the right one for your queuing needs.

We also recommend reading the new blog about Classic Queues, RabbitMQ's original queue type.

RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka: How RabbitMQ Streams is changing the game

With RabbitMQ's Streams now in play, there are valid reasons to consider RabbitMQ in use cases that used to be on Kafka territory. Streams have emerged as a stable, user-friendly alternative to Kafka for numerous scenarios. We've recently updated our blog to reflect these changes, providing an in-depth look at how RabbitMQ’s streams offers new solutions but in a familiar environment. If you’re wondering which is the right fit for your project, check out our detailed comparison.

Question:?Why is the HA-policy for the auto-generated vhost no longer default?

The HA-policy for the auto-generated vhost is no longer default because classic queue mirroring is being deprecated in RabbitMQ 4.0. To simplify the transition, CloudAMQP has removed this policy when creating new clusters. If needed, users can manually re-add the policy while migrating to newer queue types like Quorum queues or Streams.
