Love is the Master Key that Opens the Gate of Happiness—In Life and Business

It took me a long time to get to a point where I can genuinely say I’m doing what I love every day. And through the grace of reaching that place, I’ve experienced more meaning, growth, connection, purpose, variety, and stability than I ever thought possible. But before I go any further, I want to make something clear: my life isn’t the definition of success. Everyone’s path is different.

What I’ve come to realize is that we all chase the idea of success—whether in business, relationships, or personal growth. And we often hear the phrase, “Do what you love.” But is it really that simple? The answer I’ve found is…yes, but there’s more to it.

It’s not about everything being perfect or easy. Life isn’t a smooth road. Doing what you love doesn’t magically remove the obstacles—it just makes the journey worth it. At the very least, you need to find something you love in what you do. Why? Because whatever you pursue, it will be hard. You’ll have to work for it, persevere, and rise above setbacks. Love—true love, for your work, your goals, or even the people in your life—isn’t easy.

We live in a world that often teaches us love is about getting what we want, about expectations being met. But in reality, love is when you care deeply, even when things don’t go your way. When that thing you care about doesn’t seem to give anything back, you keep going because there’s meaning in the challenge.

I reflect on this as I sit here with my three kids around me. We’ve faced our share of struggles, but the love and effort we’ve put into those moments make everything else worthwhile. And as I think about my business, I realize there’s something I love in it too. It’s the love for showing other business owners how to find balance—how to make more and work less, so they can spend more time doing what they love with the people who matter most.

Running a business isn’t easy, but when you love what you do (or find what you love in it), it gives you the drive to push through the difficult times. That’s where the power lies—finding the meaning, even in the struggles.

So, to the business owners reading this: What’s the part of your work that you love? Are you making time for it, or has the daily grind taken over? Because when you connect with what you love in your business, that’s when you open the gates to more fulfillment—not just in your work, but in your life as a whole.

If this resonates with you, let’s connect. Follow me for more insights, or share this with someone who might need to hear it today. Let’s build a world where we work smarter, live fuller, and spend more time with the things and people we love.
