Love Living The Healthy And Active Lifestyle

When it comes to living an active lifestyle and loving it, there are 3 things that we need to:

  1. Build the right foundations with the right technique.
  2. Include variety within what we do to ensure it stays interesting, fun and dynamic, and in a way that works well with everything else in our lifestyle.
  3. Have personal challenges that will push us out of our comfort zone, give us something to work towards and measure our achievements.

With anything we do, if we get the technique right and build the right foundations then we create a strong basis to build from. Well, we would never live in a house that had poor foundations.

Maybe you have felt that plateau doing an exercise, then had your technique changed. It became harder but you quickly found that you were able to progress. Progress was made through your technique being brought back to the foundations.

When it comes to adding variety, this can be challenging as we like consistency, particularly as we get older. But if you want to see progress then this is just how you get stuck. So having a consistent challenge you work towards improving on, then you want to make the changes necessary for the progress.

It is more fun to be out doing something different, then stuck in a gym doing the same routine. I bet you find this at work. The day is more productive and goes quicker when you are not just sat at your desk all day.


Then we have those personal challenges. The things we set ourselves to measure our achievements as well as push for; they make us work a little harder. Well if you did a 1 minute press up test and achieved 10 press ups, wouldn't you want to do better next time?

Or if you are the competitive type, maybe your friend did 20 press ups so you want to beat them.

The challenges you set can be completely personal and for you only, or they can be competitive against friends, partners or just other members of the community. When you choose which challenge you do, then the most effective will always be one that suits you

So rather than dread a workout, or have goals you want to achieve but always slip into the sidelines, make it FUN, CHALLENGING and with strong FOUNDATIONS.
