A Love Letter From the Beneficiaries of Your National Philanthropy Day Giving

I don't speak for people with rare disease, endangered species, unhoused people, refugees, victims of violence or injustice, or the families of first responders killed in 9/11 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. I don't speak for the planet we inhabit, historic structures that require preservation, or waters choked with plastic or chemicals. I only represent myself, someone with privilege to be sure, and also, someone whose career has been spent serving the Greater Good in one way or another, encouraging people to see the value in making charitable gifts to important causes. However, I think about what some of beneficiaries might say in reaction to the global generosity shared for this year's National Philanthropy Day. I let my mind wander and this is what I imagine they would tell you in a love letter of sorts.

A day past National Philanthropy Day, we wish to share with you the profound impact you've had on lives across the world, touching not only humans but also the countless beings in our interconnected and interdependent world. While our stories might remain anonymous, our gratitude and hope shine brightly, thanks to your selfless support.

In your kindness, you've become architects of hope, crafting a world where progress and compassion are the guiding principles. Your contributions transcend borders, species, and weave a ribbon of positive change that stretches across the globe.

You've nurtured our dreams, supported our aspirations, and breathed life into our hopes for something better. Whether through education, healthcare, equity and inclusion, environmental conservation, or countless other worthy causes, your investments have become the pillars upon which brighter futures are built.

The impact of your generosity extends far beyond the tangible, transforming not only individual lives but also entire communities. You've provided shelter to unhoused veterans, nourishment to hungry families, and healing to people living with trauma or oppression. You've safeguarded our planet, its creatures, and its fragile ecosystems. Your actions are a testament to your wisdom and understanding that we are all connected.

Your support is not just smart; it's visionary. It recognizes that our world is a shared home, and the challenges faced by one are faced by all. You've chosen to stand as stewards of a better future, where empathy, unity, and kindness prevail.

You're not mere donors; you're our partners in a noble journey towards progress and hope. Your trust fuels our determination to innovate, create lasting solutions, and envision a world where positive change endures.

As we move forward from National Philanthropy Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every one of you, from the quiet supporters to those who have stood with us for years. Your contributions, regardless of their size, are a testament to your unwavering dedication to the causes you believe in.

On this day, we celebrate your hearts. You're not only important; you're essential to the very essence of the positive transformation we strive to achieve.

We want to express our profound gratitude for being the driving force behind our progress and hope. Your actions inspire us to keep pushing boundaries, to dream bigger, and to build a world where the legacy of your kindness and generosity will endure for generations.

With boundless gratitude,
