A Love Letter to 25 year old Tina

As I sat down with my journal recently, I stumbled upon a prompt about the advice we might offer to our younger selves. Now, at the vibrant age of over 45-ish (LOL!) and amidst the infectious energy of graduation season, I find myself reflecting on my journey. It's a chance to both see and celebrate.

Today, I'm at the crossroads of leveraging all my experiences to build a thriving coaching business and grappling with the humbling realization of how much there is to learn. This intersection, while exciting, is undeniably uncomfortable.

But here's the thing—I’m going to lean into this discomfort. This week, I’m all about vulnerability and hopefully inspiring or helping someone else who might be on a similar path. So, let's get this adventure started!"

What would you say in a letter to your 25 year old self? Here's mine...

Dear 25-year-old Tina,

If only I could sit beside you and share the incredible chapters of life that are about to unfold. You’re at the start of a journey filled with both challenge and triumph, and I’m so proud of the resilience you’ve begun to discover within yourself.

Many are confused by choices you made, but they’ll still be there to support you. You’re facing hardships that are designed to bring you closer to God — divorce, single motherhood, and money trouble. Yet, with each challenge, you’ll rise stronger and more determined, armed with lessons learned, wisdom and grace.

Lauren is only 3 but she’s watching you and she will follow in your footsteps in many ways! College isn’t just about earning a degree; it’s about repetitiously overcoming. Stop being embarrassed that it took you so long....NO ONE has even asked about it.

As you navigate through the Corporate America often being the only woman of color in the room, your courage doesn’t go unnoticed. It leads you to love again and you will re-marry -he will be your best friend and biggest supporter. You will redefine the meaning of family and success.?You will also leverage that courage to fight for underserved people.

So, keep pushing forward, embrace every new beginning, and start to trust yourself. You’re going to make us so proud.

With love,

46-year-old Tina ????

P.S. Your credit score will improve and your stomach will never be flat again...sorry, not sorry! ????

Oh, Tina, this really resonates with me! The journey we've been on has been quite something. These experiences are all about making us stronger and more confident, not just in ourselves, but in something higher. Graduating from college as the first in my family was a huge achievement, something I never thought possible, but here I am. We just know that everything works for good to those who love our heavenly Father. ??
