Happy Valentines Day!?

In the spirit of this day, our Quote Of The Week is all about love. The reason we chose this quote is that it encourages you to think of “love” not as something you get, or something only for romance. Love is about caring, compassion, empathy and heart. It is about having a space in your life for the wellbeing of others. And if that isn’t something that associations and chambers embody every single day, then we don’t know what is.?

Different forms of love?

Love does not equate to romance. Love is present in friendships, family, between strangers and nature. It exists in how you treat your coworkers, and how you feel about your pets. And yes, it is about romantic love, too. ?

Recognizing love as something bigger than romance, however, opens up the power that this emotion and mindset has to change the world. If you view those around you as someone you do or could love – or even as a person that someone else loves – it encourages us to be kind. ?

Caring about others?

The happiness of others and being invested in how the people around you are doing is what makes our world a great place. Love?breeds compassion and thoughtfulness. It encourages us to be softer in our responses and to consider the experiences of others. Love humanizes us. ?

Caring and compassion are maybe two of the most overlooked emotions and practices out there - compassion especially. They are so powerful because these feelings promote meaningful, deeper connections between people. It improves problem solving skills. They encourage the putting-aside of judgement to understand people and who they are.

A day of love = A day of happiness?

So today, try to think about love as an investment in the happiness of those around you. Focus on being kind and compassionate to find love in other aspects of your life. See what doors it opens and how it changes your mindset. And you’ll probably be surprised at how easy it is to show love and spread happiness into the world.?

?Who was Robert Heinlein

Robert Heinlein lived from 1907 - 1988. He was an American science fiction writer, naval officer and even an aeronautical engineer. Although his works were fiction, he wrote with scientific accuracy and pioneered the genre of "hard science fiction".

He advocated for love, un-judged, in any and all forms in his works.

Why do we do a “Quote Of the Week”??

?Inspirational quotes can help fuel creative thinking, build deeper connections to your daily life and help to promote positive thinking. Thoughtful Tuesday is our way of fostering this habit and practice. We want to get a little bit deeper each week and help association and chamber professionals stay inspired.?
