Love at Every Stage
''Don't ever let anyone tell you, you're past your prime'' - Michelle Yeoh
I bought myself a bouquet of?ranunculi?last week.
There's something symbolic about buying myself flowers... something empowering, maybe it's even a?declaration of my independence. A declaration to myself.
When I was single, I bought myself flowers all the time and it felt so good. And now, even though I'm married, I still buy myself flowers...and it still feels good.?
I usually keep the flowers in the?living room but this time I brought some into my office where I could see them everyday.?The buds started out?closed, as if they were shy...hiding.
Every day they opened a little more, showing themselves to me and the world.
Loving themselves along the way, just doing what they do...?bloom.
After a week, they started to look frail, their colors fading.?However,?I noticed how sturdy their stems still were. Their petals are about to fall off... any day now and I think of it as a shedding of sorts.
They didn't try and stay one way... they let the process unfold...naturally
Such a great reminder...to love oneself every step of the way... with no judgment and without thinking it's too late... as long as we're here... it's not too late, not for me, not for you, not for anybody.
I'm not past my prime... I'm just getting started!
Wishing you all the beauty that Spring and all her flowers share?with us.
Without winter, it wouldn't be the same.

1 年Thank you Robbie. We do so often respond toe plants and the flowers they display. And they do in a very intimate but functional way match the name of this virtual centre. Shy at first, though increasingly bold as they grow and open. And indeed they are an important part of the plants' nakedness. They are the genitals, meant to attract.
