Sometimes, because we've had some failed relationships in the past, it tend to tint our view of what love really is. You might be tempted to conclude love is no cure for misunderstandings.
I have seen people that were believed to be in love grow apart for flimsy reasons ; I talked to one of them and his response was "you can love each other but if you don't have a lot of good faith, honest and vulnerable conversations with each other, love will not take you far."
Oh well, the truth is in a relationship you need that good faith to believe that the other person is not acting against you, you don't want to assume the worst. And also you will cheat yourself out of a good relationship because that of lack of vulnerability BUT most importantly, love encompasses all the things we assume to be the extra ingredients needed. I strongly think that love should make you want to do these things.
Love should make you want to have better, vulnerable communications with your people.
Love drives.
Love is active.
When everything else falls apart, Love never fails.
Maybe we don't really know what love is.
