Love As Easily As It Is

I have on my wall written a list of my truths.

These are not affirmations. But truths. Truths of who I AM, not merely a list of who I wish to be.

When I wrote my truths the first time around, I connected with how easily I can love, and instinctively it came to me as "I love as easily as it is to hate." And as much as I disliked the parable, I felt it was true- that naturally, we are quick to judge someone then we are to embrace them.

In my mind, I wanted to shift that. I wanted to realize that I CAN love someone just as easily as it is to hate them. And I choose Love over hate. It's a truth I need to remember every day and put into practice.

That was until last week. Last week it clicked. As I read my truths, slowly and intentionally, I realized I had it all wrong.

And it FELT wrong.

I was wrong with my assumption.

Every time I repeat that I love as easily as it is to hate, I am keeping that belief alive that it is easier to hate than to love. And I am trying to shift that by saying I can love that easily too.

But what if I let go of that belief entirely? What if it's simply not true?

What if I would love as easily as it is to love because it simply IS easy to love?

I took out my marker and changed it to that. And it felt so much 1)lighter 2)calmer 3)peacefuler and 4)truer.

I want to eradicate the idea of hate, and for sure the idea that hate is easy.

I don't know. I don't want it on my mind. I don't want to have that word disturb the peace of my truth.

And the truth is, I love as easily as it is to love.

Because it is so easy to love.

And I am that.
