For The Love of Data!

Data collection is one of the fundamentals of marketing. In today’s world of social media marketing and focusing on increasing your likes, followers and engagement, data is overlooked by many.

Don’t get me wrong, social media plays an important role in marketing and when done well is a great platform in the retail space.

But data (I just love it) is so important. Creating campaigns that allow for capturing customer data shouldn’t be pushed to one side. When you build your database and subscribers list, it gives you a free method for engaging and informing them of “what’s on” at your scheme. Working with your retailers to promote their offers and running incentives is a great way to pull customers to your centre.

When someone subscribes to your database, they are giving you the green light to talk to them. No one likes to be bombarded by insignificant information, so ensure your communications are relevant and have a call to action.

Keep a realistic target when building your database and always ensure your methods are GDPR compliant.

Top Tips To Build Your Database;

  1. Point Of Sale

This is the easiest time to collect data. The customer is already engaging with you and therefore the perfect time to collect information.

2. Website Pop Ups

Encourage database subscriptions by having a pop up on your website.

3. Social Media

Ensure you have a link.tr link on your Instagram that has a section within this that directs users to subscribe. Ensure you have a subscribe button on your Facebook page.

4. Free Wi-Fi

If your centre has a free Wi-Fi platform, they will require visitors’ data when signing up. This data can be used as part of your ongoing centre database.

5. E-Newsletter

Make sure the content is worth reading so that it is shared on. This will encourage new subscribers and visitors to your website and social media.?
