"Love"? as a Business Strategy?

"Love" as a Business Strategy?

How do “Love” and “Business” go together??

Depending on the culture of the organization you are a part of, using the word “Love” could either put you on LinkedIn looking for a job, or completely transform your team’s culture, the way you treat one another, embrace customer service, hold one another accountable and put people back at the forefront of doing work.

Over the last month, I have read and re-read Love as a Business Strategy, which is a refreshing approach to a better way of doing business.?Based on the actual happenings at Softway, this book has forced me to hold up the ‘truth mirror’ in my own life and examine how we are embracing empathy and care for one another at work.?I’ve really appreciated the candor and humility of these leaders, sharing their own mishaps (all of which we all have done at one time or another), but also the real-time application for changes that can be made today in our own teams.

Fundamentally, I have found that when teams feel supported, included and empowered to make their own decisions, they are happier, healthier and produce better outcomes.?This may result in noticeable attributes such as improved team culture and removing the blame game that so many of our own organizations embrace, to an innovative, first to market solution that improves the lives of customers or patients.?Imagine the possibilities!

In my own team at MultiCare, we believe that our success lies with our people. We are trying to demystify the expression of ‘love’ and model it in the most authentic way we can through vulnerability, forgiveness and self-reflection.?If you are curious to learn more about how “Love” and “Business” go together, I’d encourage you to take a look at this book as this may be the ‘truth mirror’ you’ve been looking for!
