Love alone can save us ...

I saw the beautiful pic above in a post by a friend, and I recalled My Guru's saying that even God has a yearning, He too has something to achieve: Our love.

And unless we voluntarily give Him our love, we shall never find true happiness because that is why we were created. So through everything in creation, He seeks us and our love... which we so miserly withhold from Him - even when outwardly so religious.

The 'seeker' is the 'sought after' on both sides, as must happen in true love.… ?? ??? ?? ??, ??? ?? ?? ??? ?? ! A parent is unfulfilled without the offspring's love.

Francis Thompson in his famous poem 'The Hound of Heaven' (https://www.bartleby.com/236/239.html) describes God as seeking and running after man, 'Everything betrays thee for thou betrayest Me'....

Faiz, who was an avowed Marxist yet had a nuanced relationship with God like a Sufi, says about Him :

?? ???? (absent, invisible) ?? ??, ?????? (present, visible)??...

?? ????? (sight) ?? ?? ?? ?????? (the Seer, or Witness) ?? !

... … ?? ??? ????? ??????-?-???? (the creation of God)

?? ??? ?? ??? ?? ??? ?? !

So, the meaning as a whole is : 'Who is invisible and yet present

Who is both the Scene and the Spectator ...

And the people of God will rule

Which I am and so are you !'

Until we love truly and selflessly, we haven't begun living really - we are merely existing. This love is not attachment, not possessiveness -they are the mischiefs of ego, and true love does not choose the recipients - like the fragrance of a flower it gives itself to all, even to the hands that crush it!!

It's a great fraud that delusion (Maya) is playing on us. It makes us so obsessively care for the things that don't matter, and ignore the one thing - Love alone - that does matter.

Of course, love can and often must take outward 'useful' forms like service... feeding the hungry, helping the sick etc. (??????-?-??????-?-?????), but usually attachment or an excessive sense of 'I do good', mars it all.

Like a simple reed, let us let the divine music flow through us - we who often can't even digest the food we eat, and one day for sure won't be able to beat our hearts or flow our breath anymore, what great accomplishments can we be proud of?

And if you thought that the present times, brought about by our own mass karma, are very complex and difficult, just wait until you understand the great blessings behind all these - apart from the loss of life and wellness beyond our imagination, millions have already lost jobs, global warming is having its unavoidable fallout, and nothing is easy anymore. But it is a wake-up call; there is one hope for sure. Love alone can save us...love for Him Who abides in every being and everything and Who is our Source and Ultimate Destination, all along, our real Identity!

So let us all consume less and live simply; judge less and love more; possess less and share more, and be caring and compassionate to one another.

We shall then balance technology with values and usher a new age. The alternative is to perish together. We don't want that, do we? Latest research in the neo-sciences like Psychoneuroimmunology and Neurocardiology, reveal that not only does the mind rule the body, it is heart alone that can meaningfully govern the unruly mind, and that love heals like nothing else can - healing both the lover and the loved! Love alone can save this world.
