A loud wake up call

Terrorism, followed by poverty, lack of basic amenities, corruption, are few of the images that form in the minds of people when it comes to find out reasons why the country failed to provide basic health and education facilities to its countrymen at large . Pakistan is seen as a state beyond redemption, falling deep down in the dark abyss of failure due to the continuous ignorance of taking major steps in policy making and implementation of effective plans for Health & education sector.

Unlike other developing countries of the world that allocate a significant portion of their GDPs to maintain and improve healthcare, Pakistan only spends two per cent of its GDP on health.

The Current situation due to Corona Viruses ,again shows still a lot needs to be done in health sector and it’s a loud call from nature to rethink about our priorities for  public health which still seems to be the least of the government’s priorities, so much so that the health sector of the country is on the verge of decline and has no capability to cater challenges related with Corona Viruses whether its basic safety kits for paramedic staff or Masks for ordinary person .Its high time to spare some budgets on priority basis in our national monitory policy .A major nuclear power of the world failed to face operational hurdles arise from this deadly disease.

Our ignorance will create further problems for ordinary Pakistani and I'm worrying about the same bad situation faced by few third world countries like Haiti, Peru, Rwanda and other countries where due to mismanagement and lack of funds in health sector resulted in total chaos on roads .

How many people show up with shortness of breath and a fever and a cough or even low oxygen in the blood. How do we get this staffed up? We need to take care of people once they're sick. It should be taken on war footing basis and immediate measures are required without further delay

While Pakistan’s government and military are at odds over how to respond, doctors are protesting to get equipment and more testing, and clerics are refusing to limit mosque gatherings.

Doctors are refusing to show up for work. Clerics are refusing to close their mosques. And despite orders to stay at home, children continue to pack streets across Pakistan to play cricket, their parents unwilling to quarantine them in crowded homes.

Pakistan is facing its biggest challenge ever, how to mobilize its broken state as the number of corona virus cases rapidly spreads in the world’s fifth most populous country. All I suggest is that we have to face this disaster as a nation not as a disorganized bunch of people who are waiting for mother nature to do miracles for them.
