Build and manage strong relationships with your team
Trust is essential to high-performing teams. Because old ways of working are not feasible, new methods must be found to organize work.
Having less emotional connection with coworkers creates feelings of loneliness and detachment from work, including increased levels of stress, fatigue, and a lower work-life balance. These extended hours place employees in a state called "burnout," making it hard to complete tasks at the same level of quality as before.
Here are some tips for building an effective leadership system that works for you:
An effective leader is most effective when guiding different parts of the orchestra in the symphony. When it is their turn to play, they put on a show with backup from the other musicians.
Tip 1: Build your personal network
Improve your network connections. Create diversity in your network by including different people and recognizing unconscious bias. Use a map to find your personal network - try some exercises creating your own ego network which can give you a new structured approach to seeing your connections.
Tip 2: Trusted employees are key
Invest in the influencers who are respected authorities and actively communicate with them to build a culture of trust. Having communication channels open with your top influencers is a key ingredient. Organizational Network Analysis can help you identify these agents who are the most trusted employees in your organization.

Tip 3:How to monitor and get feedback from networks
Team members need to be in alignment and trust each other for your team to perform at its best. You can measure trust levels by checking in with your team members. Connected leaders make sure that team members have access to good information, and work together to build meaningful relationships.
Tip 4: Why understanding your network map is so important
Determine the ideal collaboration network for your teams. There are many misconceptions and misunderstandings that can occur when teamwork is involved. Use Organizational Network Analysis to map the gaps in a team's connections. With organizational network analysis, you can use MRIs to provide a better understanding of your organization and help manage change.
Tip 5: Allocate space and time for social purposes
Meaningful relationships will lead to innovation with a structure that rewards collaboration and staff support. Give people space to connect as humans and not just co-workers. Providing time for off-script discussions about personal stories will not only make you more engaged but also have opportunities for better discovery which is critical for innovation.
Key Takeaway
Leaders should think about how they are connected and what will help them achieve their organizational goals. They need to think about whether they are connecting with people who can help them, and if there are any gaps in their network.
