A victim gets to a point where he or she is not thinking. This does not mean that the person is not using common sense. This is led by the scenarios that occur in his or her own life. Most victims have a story to tell behind the reason why they make decisions without thinking. Moreover, they have pain that pushes them to act in a manner that does not resonate with a normal human being. Shockingly, normal human beings are the people who cause these victims to act as if they do not think. Why? Many people ask how could this happen. The only people that can explain this well are the victims because they have gone through painful moments. Some have been able to open up and share while others have not been able to share with family members and experts. There are various experiences that cause these occasions to happen. They include domestic violence, sexual harassment, gender discrimination and rejection.
Using an example, do rapists and those who cause sexual harassment know the trauma they cause on the victims? Is it really true that they don't know what are the effects or they pretend not to know? Are they always sober or they are not in there senses as they do this?
The victims are left to heal the heart, mind, soul and body that is harassed. They are left collecting their pieces to create their self-esteem. Victims are made to go looking for a solution and get into some activities which are not healthy to ensure they are comfortable. They unconsciously look for a solution in unhealthy avenues, such as, drugs which make them drug addicts, prostitution that affect their health and dignity, and seclusion which affect their relationship with other human beings.
This has been misperceived to be happening in villages. Unfortunately, this is happening in offices, schools, homes, among friends, on the streets, in urban areas, and rural areas.
How many times have the victims shared their stories? How many times have their close relatives and friends have understood these victims and help them seek relevant advice and solution?
Worldwide, are the records collected really project the percentage of the victims or are we having victims hiding because of fear?
Are we aware that violence exist? If we do, then it is time to create a room for the victims to share their story without judgement. Additionally, it is time for the victims to share their story with the relevant people and institutions to help in finding a healthy solution that is not unconscious and unhealthy.
Wishing you all the best.
