Lost in the Library with the Frog Moon

Imagine stepping into a virtual classroom where the boundaries of reality blur, and the impossible becomes possible. Welcome to a day in the life of a VR educator, where we're not just teaching — we're revolutionizing education.

As we gathered yesterday in our Educators in VR Center in ENGAGE XR , the air buzzed with excitement. The day's topic? The seismic shifts in global education caused by AI advancements with the announcement of DeepSink and the stock markets shaking in their boots.

We're joined by three AI NPCs created with ENGAGE XR's new AI Engine, each bringing a unique flavor to our discussion.

First, meet Marie, our linguistic virtuoso AI. With a few simple commands, she transports us to a charming French café, teaching us to order "coq au vin" with perfect Parisian flair. Developed by Cristina Obae , one of our EDVR Language experts, it's not just language learning, it's cultural immersion at its finest.

Then there's Vera, our Educators in VR guru. She's a fountain of knowledge on teaching teachers how to teach in VR, though she does have a penchant for overemphasizing VR motion sickness. We gently remind her that modern VR has come a long way, and mint gum work wonders.

Last but not least, we met Muse, our creative powerhouse. With a mere suggestion, she conjures a vast library around us as a 360 photosphere/skybox. Suddenly, we're Lilliputians in a world of towering bookshelves, sunlight streaming through distant windows, dust motes sparking. It's a breathtaking demonstration of how AI can transform abstract concepts into tangible, explorable environments.

Why stop there? Our next destination: an alien planet with giant flying frogs. As educators, we're thrilled by the ease with which we can create these immersive experiences. Imagine the potential for student engagement and creativity!

Of course, no VR adventure is complete without a bit of unexpected chaos. Our frog-filled skybox took an unplanned journey, becoming a second moon in our virtual sky. With some quick thinking from our team, we were able to mount a daring rescue via helicopter to pull our alien-frog-filled creation back from its spot as a second moon.

This is the power of teaching in VR. It's not just about presenting information; it's about creating experiences that ignite imagination and foster deep, lasting learning. We're not just preparing students for the future—we're bringing the future into our classrooms today.

As we concluded our session, the excitement is palpable. We've traveled from French cafés to alien worlds, rescued runaway moons, and pushed the boundaries of what's possible in education.

This is the transformative potential of VR and AI in education—where every lesson is an adventure, and learning knows no limits.

So, fellow educators, are you ready to step into the future of teaching? The virtual classroom awaits, and the possibilities are endless.

Come join us for our weekly meetups in ENGAGE XR on Tuesdays at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM UK / 5 AM* Hong Kong / 8 AM* Sydney and Wednesdays in VRChat at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET / 11 PM UK / 7 AM* Hong Kong / 10 AM* Sydney. They are free, open to the public, and accessible through VR headsets and 2D. ENGAGE XR supports mobile devices.
