Lost
Kathy Mangan
The road to optimal well-being can be a crooked path. A second set of eyes can be just the ticket to identify the obstacles we put in our own path. I love working with people who are ready for their "next"!
The gift of being lost, I believe, is what you have an opportunity to find.? There is something about the realization of knowing that you don't know where, who or what you are that can catalyze the search for your North Star.
It is important to recognize that although you may feel lost, you have always had and will always have a solid inner sense of self.? Generally, it is our inability to fully tap into that sense of the nature of one's true self that can create the experience of feeling lost.
We are usually running all kinds of narratives about who we should be and perhaps even why it will never work out for us.? There story lines are just that, story lines.?
I have found that when we can get past the story, there is a part of us that knows exactly how amazing we are and exactly what our path is.? I am not at all suggesting that this excavation is easy.? It is generally not.
Here's a pretty easy way to get started.? Begin to answer the question: "What did I love doing as a kid?? That thing that made time disappear?"? Drop back into that experience and explore why you had the experience that you had.? Did you feel free?? Powerful?? Valuable?? What things do you currently do that allow you to have that experience?? Hmmm, you just might be onto something!
