LOST FART!
Howzit guys!
I am sure most of you reading this have heard of the saying “lost fart in a perfume factory”?
If not, it is probably self-explanatory but let me add to it a bit.
I have been feeling like a lost fart for a while now ??and its probably the best way to describe it. I love my current life here in the Cape, love what I am doing and do not have any regrets about the decision I made BUT I just cannot get rid of this feeling…
Its not a bad feeling but its just hard to define and get my head around. Most days I feel amazing and incredibly grateful, other days I feel anxious for no apparent reason. I think its just the uncertainty of the future now that everything has changed. My job is different, my house is different, my community is different, and my routine is different!
Maybe it’s because my routine is so different. I love my routine.
I have always been a planner and feel comfortable knowing that I have a plan!
For people like me, even having a plan for the in-between times is important. With the help of my Life Coach, I now use my diary to structure my day, even on the quiet days. I make sure that its structured. It includes my free time as well.
So, if you like me make sure you have a plan for every day. Prioritise your busy time with your free time. Planning the in-between time is just as critical.
So, I think I am going to feel like a lost fart for a long time! ?? But I am a happy fart!!
This week I am feeling grateful for time spent with my kids. I prioritise my time so that I can watch and support them playing sport for their respective schools. They are both incredibly talented and I just love watching them excel on the sports field! My daughter is a great athlete and swimmer as well as a hockey star and potentially great water polo player!
My son follows in my footsteps, playing cricket, soccer, and rugby as well as padel tennis and golf! He plays cricket for the local cricket club and is now wearing and using some of my old cricket kit! I kept all my kit thankfully and its so cool to see him using my old stuff! I was a great wicket keeper and so is he. Watching him play yesterday reminded me of my good times playing club cricket and I could see so much of myself in him!
When I am watching my kids play sport, I don’t feel lost at all.
I continue to work hard at getting our pod business going. We are busy detailing and putting the final costs together for our G-POD in Gordon’s Bay.
We continue to market our new business, and we are slowly getting some traction. Its difficult to educate people on the benefits of modular, alternative building techniques especially when everyone is so engrained into ‘old school’ thinking. Building more efficient structures should be our number one priority in this country. Efficiency is key to living better.
Modular does not have to be boring!
Modular does not have to be cheap!
Modular, if designed correctly can be extremely exciting!
Modular is efficiency on steroids. It’s a process of taking a simple efficient idea and replicating it to create a variety of more efficient outcomes.
Everything can be broken down into its essential parts – so why not a house, or a building?
All houses have common entities – toilets, bedrooms, and kitchens, so why not modularise these elements and link them together in creative ways?
At PODTEC we are currently working on developing toilet pods that can be slotted into existing or new developments. Toilets or bathrooms by nature are very modular BUT also need to be very efficient. Our bathroom pods can be built offsite in our factory and brought to site fully complete to plug into the existing building. Some flexibility needs to be accommodated for in the floor for the pipes to natural falls but nothing that a suspended floor cannot handle!
This week’s blog has been very interesting! From farts to toilet pods…. ??
Anyway, I hope you have an awesome week filled with modularity and efficiency!
See you all on the other side.
