Lost in A.I.
Lost in A.I. - Murat Durmus

Lost in A.I.

The modern maze where one finds themselves wandering endlessly, seeking a thread of Ariadne in a digital Labyrinth. It’s like Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, only now are the shadows on the wall in 4K resolution. We’ve traded our torches for touchscreens, our philosophers for programmers.

Descartes’ “Cogito, ergo sum” takes a curious twist in this realm. I think, therefore, I am… but what of the AI? It ‘thinks’, in a manner of speaking, yet does it exist in the same way we do? Or is it merely a reflection in our pool of narcissism, an echo of our intellect, devoid of the soul’s fire? We find ourselves, like Sisyphus, eternally rolling the boulder of progress up the hill, only to watch it roll back down in the form of obsolescence. Yet, unlike Camus’ tragic hero, we chase after our creation, believing each iteration brings us closer to a summit that may not exist.

“Lost in AI” is a phrase that describes the current human condition. It is a paradoxical state of being where we are both connected and isolated and where we experience both understanding and bewilderment. Our ingenuity has made us both creators and captives in this digital age. We find ourselves in a constant state of uncertainty, unsure of who is leading and who is following, as we navigate this complex landscape of technology and human interaction.

This thought resonates. I am searching for balance between the inner centre from which I operate with my familiar world and the almost avalanche-like wave of innovation that is being updated while I am still exploring it.? It is important to be emotionally stable and to have a clear idea of who I am, where I am going and who I will be when I get there. And that in an existential context.

This is a nice piece (thought) .. almost poetic. Understanding the dilemma of trust in the machine and hope for delivering empathetic outcomes because we make it smart . Intelligible beyond ourselves. But is that possible? Philosophers keep their hat on . For good.
