Lose weight to improve mortality

A lot of the focus in prevention of disease in the NHS in uk is focused on obesity.

The view is it is a disease of itself.

Some of us take a different view that in fact it is a symptom of a disease.

A lot drugs aim to help people lose weight but do they tackle root cause?

Here is an interesting paper from 2020 CDC. Thin people with metabolic syndrome do really badly. It actually appears that having lots of fat cells might be protective in those who develop metabolic syndrome. This is not what we are told.
