Lording it
It's always nice to have one's work commended but particularly nice to have it commended in the House of Lords.
On Wednesday, in a debate in the house of Lords of the Government's proposals in relation to the Horserace Betting Levy, Lord Lipsey said (see here) this:
"I commend to the House the briefing by Olswang’s Dan Tench, a leading gambling lawyer, which asks six crucial, fundamental questions"
The briefing in question is here.
Lord Lipsey went on to question (as I did) the need for the Levy in light of the lucrative media rights enjoyed by Racing. Something the Government appears yet to answer.
