The Lord Shall Endure Forever

The Lord Shall Endure Forever

Although God loves believers with a special love, he cares for all people by freely offering Jesus for them to receive. But, what about the people who actively scoff Him?

“For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously You have rebuked the nations, You have eliminated the wicked; You have wiped out their name forever and ever. The enemy has come to an end?in?everlasting ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished,” (Psalm 9:4–6NASB).

David remembers all the past victories of God and realizes that He is not indifferent to the affairs of the world. David is elated in his thoughts and almost seems to be dancing on the graves of the unrighteous.

God has wiped out whole cities of the wicked and their names vanish from memory forever. Even today, terrible days lie ahead for Christians, but God pledges to keep faithful people to his name alive until Jesus returns.

Friends and family will die and leave us. Whole buildings and town eventually disappear. Nations come and go throughout history. Individual churches are destined to close their doors.

The constant that does not change is the source of David’s comfort. He says, the Lord shall endure forever (Psalm 9:7).
