Looks Matter
Imagine you and I don't know one another but that we coincidently meet at a hotel vending machine. I want to buy something that costs a dollar but only have 91 cents. I hold out the 91 cents and ask, "Would you be willing to give me a dollar for this 91 cents." Chances are good you'd be willing to do that just as a gesture of kindness.
Now, suppose we meet at a fine restaurant and I hold out my hand with 91 cents and ask for a $20. The odds fall dramatically.
Now, take a close look at the coin set above. It has 91 cents in uncirculated coins. People by them all the time for $20. In many cases even more.
Why??

Well for lots of reasons but at least one of them is that this is an attractive package. It just looks nice. For years I had one on the credenza behind my desk.
Looks matter, and the way a pharmacy looks can make a big difference in your sales. Is your store well laid out, with aisle wide, clean, well lite and artfully merchandised? Are there old, worn out and torn posters on the windows and walls? Is your team dressed "professionally" or are they wearing the same clothes they'd wear if they were doing their personal shopping at Walmart?
All these little things, if done right, they add to the value of your pharmacy. If not, they detract. If you want to sell more clinical services, do more immunizations or increase sales of nutraceuticals, put in the effort to improve the looks of your pharmacy.
