Looking for your own furry friend and think there is a dog shortage? Have a look in the shelters!
This morning an article was posted on LinkedIN News highlighting There is a severe dog shortage. It reminded me of the article by #TheCut posted about a month ago stating it is so hard to adopt a rescue dog. I am a dog shelter volunteer and dog foster and can assure, there are currently thousands of dogs waiting for their new home.
I am currently fostering a hound mix in Miami through a private rescue, Redland Rockpit Abandoned dogs. Last year, I fostered 11 dogs in total in New York city through the city's animal shelter NYCACC (yes, it's a lot of fun and addictive). These organizations, which are present all over the country, are desperate for volunteers, fosters and adopters and have thousands of dogs available waiting for a new home, from couch potato to energetic pups.
So if you are looking for your own furry friend, have a look in the shelter, for example the #100+?available dogs in NYC's city shelter. And if you're not quite ready to adopt, consider fostering or volunteering.
