Job Description:Windows System Administrator(Server and Client Desktop)

Concentrates on the Configuration and Maintenance of Client’s Windows Servers and Desktops Environments that support the business requirements of the client. Included in the focus areas are the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components (including partners) of the infrastructure. Best practices in this role use references and documentation articles available to develop and maintain client environments at par with defined client SLA’S. Windows Server Administrators are responsible for performance, availability and scalability of the environment, perform daily BAU Activities such as Incident resolution, Service Request Fulfillment and Change Implementations as per business requirements.

·        L3/SME level expertise in handling Windows Server Administration.(Virtual Platforms)

·        Windows 10 System Administration skills & Application troubleshooting skills.

·        Installation and configuration of Applications on Windows.

·        Ability to troubleshoot, identify and correct malfunctions and help resolve multi-faceted problems

·        Troubleshooting of complex issues related to Windows Servers and Desktops using Sysinternal tools and other troubleshooting tools and available logs and monitoring tools.

·        Working with service management request, responding & resolving within the required SLA.

·        Interacting with clients in understanding their requirements & supporting them.

·        Working knowledge of Servers, Networks, Personal Computer (PC) and Applications.

·        8+ Years of experience in Windows Server Administration(Virtual Platforms)

·        Installation, Configuration&Management of Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008

·        Good hands on experience on Windows Operating Systems – 2012, 2008.

·        Good Hands on experience on Windows 10 and Windows 7 Desktops VM’S.

·        Configuring Applications and Management ofWindows Profile and Profile Redirection.

·        Specializing in handling Windows Server related queries.(VMWare / Nutanix)

·        Installation and Configuration of Applications on Windows Servers and Windows Desktops.

·        Periodic Windows Server Resources and Licensing Capacity Assessment Checks.

·        Good understanding of OS standards of Windows Server (2k8, 2k12), AD, VMware

·        Good understanding of Active Directory Services and Related issues.

·        Good understanding of NTFS Permissions and DFS related issues.

·        Good Understanding about VMware/Nutanix solutions

ESX and ESXi configuration

Virtual Switch Configurations

DRS Cluster and Management

Optimize Virtual Machine resources

·        Good understanding of Powershell Scripting

·        Good understanding of Windows Group Policies

·        Good understanding of DNS , DHCP , Storage, Networking.

·        Managing Network Printing and Print Servers

·        Maintaining and Patching Servers and Desktops using SCCM or other patching tools.

·        Management of Server OS and applications as per business requirement

·        Maintaining the SLA (average of 99% Uptime of all services) as defined by client

·        Constantly looking for new technologies & ideas and implement the most suitable ones in Citrix environment.

·        Preparing work/ support documentation, checklists and implementing documents/ standards documents to ensure a high-quality of service delivery.

·        Managing the installation and decommissioning of servers, Data Migration, regular patching and configuration of Servers.

·        Updating the tickets in the tool to ensure correct and real time information is available for reference.

·        Ensuring Security and Quality processes, Problem Management, Change Management, and Incident Management procedures and practiced and followed.

·        Arranging Training Sessions for peers for any upgrade of Technical and Non-Technical Skills

·        Handling calls from Global clients and resolving issues using remote tools.

·        Basic understanding of O365

·        Basic understanding of Citrix Solutions such as Citrix XenApp and Citrix Xen Desktop, Citrix Profile Management
