Looking for Support in Teaching my 6 year old some valuable Business & Life Lessons..........

Some of you know me as "The Cloud GURU" or "Contact Center Expert".....but rarely do you know me as "The Mom"..................So here is a glimpse!

My six year old daughter: Kyra (on the left in the picture above) approached me last week wanting to setup a lemonade stand and earn money to buy a "Monster High Doll". First, I had to google what that doll actually was because when I was 6 years old, I was still playing with Barbies. So come to my surprise they are like Barbie Zombies/Monsters.... ha! This is what the doll looks like if the curiosity has sparked in you:

Second, I had to look up all the laws of lemonade stands because I'm aware there are SOME pretty crazy laws around setting up one these days. This was my second Google Search. Whew..... Google has me wrapped around their fingers. 

Lastly, I didn't want to just buy her the doll as I have done with other toys she's had in the past. I figured she is now 6 and can comprehend some early life & business lessons now! (And No, didn't have to use Google for this one!) YIPPY!

Then I thought to myself, what value and lesson can I actually teach my 6 year old about Money? First, I'm in Sales so I might as well teach her some Sales & Marketing Skills. I'm focused on showing her a few valuable skills (don't want to overwhelm her with her first venture):

• 1. Value - What value are you going to give to people
• 2. Brand - How are you going to standout from other "Lemonade Stand"
• 3. Visibility - How are you going to market your "Lemonade Stand" and spread the word

I then thought of the teachings I learned from Dave Ramsey! The GIVE, SAVE, SPEND Rules! We are HUGE Dave Ramsey fans and have witnessed the success in our own life going through his program and we are happy to say we are on Baby Step #5!

The charity we are going to give to is an amazing charity here in Phoenix called The Lions Camp! Please check out their website below.
Lions Camp is the only organization in Arizona that provides individuals with special needs the opportunity to spend a week away from home in the White Mountains, enjoying activities and meeting new friends, all free-of-charge.

Here is a breakdown of your wonderful donation:
50% of Proceeds will be GIVEN to our favorite Charity Arizona Lions Camp

25% will be SAVED by the girls (hopefully for college! )
25% will be SPENT on operating costs and I might buy "one" Monster Barbie doll...oopss... I mean Monster High Doll.
