Looking for Qualified Applicants

Have you heard that it is very difficult for employers to find qualified employees ?
Many qualified candidates may already be employed, but could also be passively looking for new opportunities, or open to a change if the opportunity is right . So how do some employers decide to look for those candidates? By making the application process as time-consuming and painful as possible, and then they say they can’t find qualified applicants! After working 60+ hours per week, that is just what a passive job hunter is looking to do – waste valuable time!
I’ve actually looked at a few positions and then started the process to test it out. I couldn’t believe it. How many candidates are going to spend 30 minutes or more to submit an application to an advertised position, when they know that many of them will go into the abyss (not to mention the ones that are not even real jobs, or have already been filled). The information that some employers require to just submit a resume is somewhat like writing a novel. Gee - only 3 applicants applied??
I know that most successful individuals will not spend a lot of time on tasks that don’t have a high probability of getting them the results they are looking for. Here is a suggestion. Make it easy. LinkedIn has Easy Apply! I will bet they get more qualified applicants to choose from than the employer that wants a novel on your life!
Am I missing something? I am not a human resources professional, but those are my thoughts on finding more qualified people.
